Financing preparation

Documents a lender may request from your business

A simple way to organize business, ownership, income, and project information before speaking with a lender.

Every financing request is different, but preparation can make the process easier. Start with your business formation records, ownership information, tax identification number, and current contact details.

A lender may request business and personal tax returns, bank statements, profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, debt schedules, or information about the property or equipment being financed.

Use clear file names and keep the most recent version of each document in one secure location. If a lender asks for an updated item, you will know what changed and which version was submitted.

A referral does not guarantee financing. Each lender makes its own credit and underwriting decisions and may request additional documentation.
